    Spring Fling 2013

From the album: Smokey's Place, Spring Fling 2013

The entire house utilized wood scoring and staining techniques. I also used woodsies as siding for the exterior and the front interior wall. The roof is copper tape with an aged patina.

Another exterior shot with view into the (right side) interior. Smokey's poster has curled edges

    Spring Fling 2013

From the album: Smokey's Place, Spring Fling 2013

The front porch of Smokey's Place. I reduced the overhang and porch base for a narrower front porch.

Rear view of Smokey's Place. This image shows the rear clerestory window well.

    Spring Fling 2013

From the album: Smokey's Place, Spring Fling 2013

Another shot of the right hand side interior. Sorry for the poor photo quality, but wanted to include it for the bear shelf I made and painted and interior view of the working window.

    Spring Fling 2013

From the album: Smokey's Place, Spring Fling 2013

Interior (left side) of Smokey's Place. I repurposed the roof upgrade pieces as baseboard and frame for the Dancing Bears image.

    table

From the album: Spring Fling 2013

I made the enamel-type pitcher on the table. The flowers on the table were Ebay purchases. There's orange slices and an apple on the plate, for snack.

    Spring Fling 2013

From the album: Smokey's Place, Spring Fling 2013

Right side cabin interior. A simple bed and simple washstand (dry sink kit) for a simple Bear. Floor, walls and ceiling were all scored and stained varying colors for a rustic look.
  12. From the album: Smokey's Place, Spring Fling 2013

My signature origami bird for good luck. Where is it hanging?
  13. From the album: Smokey's Place, Spring Fling 2013

It's dark. It's night. It's hard to see, but there are some vague outlines of furniture....

Found these darling pillows on eBay and could not resist for my SF!

    Spring Fling 2013

From the album: Smokey's Place, Spring Fling 2013

My EasyCutter arrived before the weekend! At first I thought "Oh No! I wasted money on a tool I can't use!" Because when I tried to squeeze the devise to cut the woodsies' ends, it was too hard on my hands. But then I discovered I could lift the stick toward the blade while squeezing the grips with the other hand, and I was able to cut the end off hundreds of the darn sticks without too much discomfort. I'm not sure that's the way to use this tool, but it works for me!

    Spring Fling 2013

From the album: Smokey's Place, Spring Fling 2013

Another experiment. Playing with "woodsies" as siding for a rustic look. I need an easy cutter if I'm going to do a lot of this because the cutter I used hurts my hands to squeeze it this many times. I wasn't going to show you the whole front, but then I thought, "why not?"

    Spring Fling 2013

From the album: Smokey's Place, Spring Fling 2013

I decided to use this year's SF to experiment and try new techniques. I scored and stained the floor and have sanded it and the score lines. I wanted a lot of color variation and am happy with it so far. I used stain pens to do the individual "boards," using Early American and Golden Oak. For the lighter boards I used less stain. I will need several coats of shellac or varnish.
