The entire house utilized wood scoring and staining techniques. I also used woodsies as siding for the exterior and the front interior wall. The roof is copper tape with an aged patina. -

I made the enamel-type pitcher on the table. The flowers on the table were Ebay purchases. There's orange slices and an apple on the plate, for snack. -

It's dark. It's night. It's hard to see, but there are some vague outlines of furniture.... -

My EasyCutter arrived before the weekend! At first I thought "Oh No! I wasted money on a tool I can't use!" Because when I tried to squeeze the devise to cut the woodsies' ends, it was too hard on my hands. But then I discovered I could lift the stick toward the blade while squeezing the grips with the other hand, and I was able to cut the end off hundreds of the darn sticks without too much discomfort. I'm not sure that's the way to use this tool, but it works for me! -

Another experiment. Playing with "woodsies" as siding for a rustic look. I need an easy cutter if I'm going to do a lot of this because the cutter I used hurts my hands to squeeze it this many times. I wasn't going to show you the whole front, but then I thought, "why not?"- 4 comments

I decided to use this year's SF to experiment and try new techniques. I scored and stained the floor and have sanded it and the score lines. I wanted a lot of color variation and am happy with it so far. I used stain pens to do the individual "boards," using Early American and Golden Oak. For the lighter boards I used less stain. I will need several coats of shellac or varnish. -
Sooo.......I KNOW. It's ONLY January. And truth be told, I no more have time to fling right now than take a two month vacation. Then WHY can't I stop thinking Spring Fling??? The Creatin' Contest shell is adorable. I immediately saw a terrific project I could even do with my 4 year old. And all I can think is FLING! Am I alone? Crazy? Help!!!
