Stucco

dooder85

I wanted to feel like I got something done tonight so I tackled the stucco on the outside of the house. One of the issues I foresaw with the spackle and paint method was the tiny little crevaces between the brackets for the second floor. I opted for the toilet paper stucco method instead and I have to say I love this approach. It puts the stucco completely in scale, it's fantastic and fairly fast!

I have a gallon of white paint, slap on a thick base coat and then stick the TP to the wet paint (I stripped mine down to one ply), then with more paint painted over top of the TP. It rips and mushes into a decent texture. If i wanted more texture in a particular place I just applied another ply over top. in summary:

1. thick paint

2. stick TP

3. more thick paint

4. repeat

It looks great!&nbsp; Thanks for the run-down on how you did it.&nbsp; I've done it before, but did it a little differently (and on funny angles), and I really like how yours turned out.&nbsp; I may do this instead of spackle on my current rehab.&nbsp; It might be sturdier for a 7yo to play with.<br>

Hmmmm ... this really looks good! I think I'll experiment with it for my Pierce inn. Congratulations on a job well done!
