Having been "stored" :( in my parents' basement (who's house is also a tutor-style chalet--hmm interesting :shifty: ), my house sat and waited to be transformed into a butterfly in its' dusty coccoon through six years of college, two little brothers ( one being 9 years younger and the other 16 years younger than I) using it as a matchbox car garage and ramp, and a little sister (21 years younger than myself)--who actually left it alone for the most part because she had her own renwal style finished dollhouse and had no interest in the abandoned, haunted looking abode that sat with its' broken trim pieces, cob webs, and dust in the basement. "Yuck--firewood kindling!" Ha ha :giggle: ! I should then mention that after returning back to my home town after graduating with my master's, I received the house AGAIN as a gift from my parents to store in MY basement of my duplex because they were tired of storing it in theirs. At that time, I had a beautiful black Burmese kitty named Warlock who loved to sleep in it and use it as a climbing post. There the house sat for almost another decade and watched and listened quietly as my first son was born, grew into a little boy, and as our dear beloved friend and kitty became old and feeble and eventually one day closed his beautiful golden eyes for the last time. The house sat as I met my husband and step sons, married, and had another baby boy. It moved with our new family when we bought our house. It then sat in our three season room and waited through baby blues, returning back to my job, and a Doberman puppy named Draco. Until one sunny July morning, my best friend (also an artist) and I, together, decided that it was time to finish this project that had begun almost 30 years prior. And at this point--clean, repair, and rennovate much of it as well! I wish that I had taken pictures of what it used to look like, but I was so excited to begin the "reformation" that I forgot to snap pictures of my house at its utmost lowest point. I was in absolute pursuit in restoring the house to its' original glory.
