Well i'm finally back at the Newberg, after waiting 2 months for paperclay to come back in at the Michaels (or at least so i could get my paws on it before someone else could), i've got a roof. I had stained it grey/black but it didn't sit well, was too heavy or something. so four different shades of stain later.. ta da!
