Perhaps there have been improvements in particleboard over the years, I just remember a heckuva long time ago when DH & I were first married we had an open commode table made of particleboard that didn't survive the first move! I had a Keystone dh when I was little and the material was like masonite or a very dense particleboard that held up to many mini years of play.
