jbnmini
Dura-Craft windows that come with the kit suck! Painting all of the Alexandria windows.....tedious! Doesn't help that the quality of the wood on these windows is terrible! Absolutely NO comparison to the Houseworks windows! Trying to sand without splintering the wood.... and not being able to remove the panes is a pain in the neck! ok....my rant is over.
otterine
I feel your pain...I am not looking forward to that part of the Heritage.
jbnmini
If I were doing this house for myself, I would just replace all the windows with Houseworks....but my client wants to keep costs down as much as possible. Thus, I sand and grumble.
otterine
The Heritage has specialty windows that can't be replaced...so I'll also be sanding and grumbling.
genieDOLL
My duracraft San Fran came out of a dumpster minus its windows. I bought Houseworks, and haven't figured out how to fit them becasue there will be sizable gaps. I bough 15 as there are 5 triple bays. I plan to use foamboard, and use the Housework templates to cut out the squares to fit the windows. Maybe you should scrap the lousy kit windows and buy Houseworks? Wait for a good coupon sale. havanaholly
At least the windows are already made. I got to cut the wood and assemble the SF555's windows.
