alycemina
I bought a doll mold and am using FIMO. The head comes out about 1 inch think and the torso even thicker. The pieces are solid,of course. The directions for FIMO say no longer than 30 min - is that enough to bake through? Or do I have to bake it more than once. I have baked other FIMO, but nothing this big or thick. Advice, please. Thanks Alyce
KathieB
Alyce, with this mold, can you use a small ball of foil inside so the clay won't be solid? Also, Anna boils her Fimo ... perhaps this would work better for thicker pieces as there would be no risk of browning as in a dry heat oven. JPete
Take a look at these two websites, they have great information on sculpting and baking dolls and lots of tutorials. Most require a wire frame inside the body. www.patriciarosestudios.com www.ooakdollart.com

havanaholly
I sculpt solid-body polymer clay dolls, I bake them at 250 degrees F for 25 minutes for torsos & heads and cover the arms & legs with foil and bake them for 20 minutes. I don't use armatures.
