Glad it was helpful. I didn't take a photo of one important step - as you paint each of the colored squares (in my case, the blue squares) before doing that I would tape off all the edges of the white squares adjacent to it so that the blue wouldn't bleed off into the white squares. Then when I'd paint the blue square, I'd drag the brush IN to the center of the square starting on the blue tape so that the blue didn't bleed UNDER the tape either. The RL tutorial link I added expalins it in more detail.
