The metal roof is made from magazine paper to get the shiny flat surface without the wood grain. I made the raise parts with wood strips I got at Michaels. I love how bright and colorful this building is!

You must have put a lot of time and effert into this. It really shows of countless hours. Super job.

The covers of magazines, and the insides of some, have a really glossy finish so the paint finish is glass smooth. If you use normal paper, or even just the wood, the grain shows through and it doesn't look right. So, cover the roof with the magazine cover and cut it to size, then paint it. Then paint the strip wood and glue it in place once dry. :) Voila, metal roof.
