Looking through the Bay

In real life, I love looking through windows to see how people have decorated their home (especially if its the same model as my own). I love it with dollhouses, too.

I love that, too! When I lived in a condo we would walk around the complex in the summertime and sneak peeks at how others decorated their place. I loved how they can all look so different. That is also why I like being able to peek into dollhouse windows. I'm so glad to know I am not the only peeping tom who loves interior design :p .

I guess I got started doing it at Christmas-time when I was a kid and I got nosier as I got older. When we bought our house in a new community 5 years ago, I kept very close tabs on the 6 other homes who bought the same model. I couldn't wait to see what they did in picking out options (cabinets, railings, flooring, counters, lighting) and then what they did to the walls in the 2 front rooms. Out of 7 of us, 3 did the dining room in dark red (1 did a very gorgeous chocolate brown and the others left them "house white"), 2 made the "parlor" into a library (including me - the others made offices), 4 kept the flex space above the dining room as a sitting room to the master although I don't know why anyone would need to add a sitting room to a 18x20 bedroom (2 converted them to bedrooms and I left mine open to the foyer below and use it as an office).
