I made the aluminum boat out of clay - it looks like Grandpa drove it over the rocks several times though! Did you know that boats are practically impossible to find in 1:12 scale at a reasonable price? I even got Ernie involved in the hunt! I made the knot display, the fishing rods and holders. The canoe was a cheap little balsa one that originally came hot glued on a miniature sawhorse. I just broke it off, sanded it down and gave it a few good coats of gloss and paint. You'd never know that the bottome of it looks like it spent the winter on the bottom of the lake!
