I love this shot with the appearance that the lighthouse is attached to the shop.

You have a fantastic spring fling - all the details make it so realistic.

I've never tried the water effects before. Is it hard to do?

Congratulations and lots of fun times with your son with it.

Keep building - you have a great artistic ability.

The water effects is a super easy product to use! No mixing required. It's usually found in train stores and that type of place. A couple of tricks though (maybe I should put them under the how to section of the forrums) - when you use the pourable product, first (obviously) make sure you have a solid lip all the way around the area you're pouring into. Also, better by far to pour in several thin layers than one thick one (the foamcore board I used for my parent's 144 scale cottage warped as it dried and shrank!) Make sure you decorate the bottom surface well first, because it shows through clearly after the water dries. With the thick water product, you basically squirt it on from a glue bottle, but it's thicker than Aleen's tacky glue so beware of air bubbles - it will blow! After you have it roughly in place you can then "mould" it with paint brushes or whatever. After it dries it becomes completely clear so if you want choppy water (I did it on a 144 scale lighthouse for a friend's birthday. The lighthouse and attached cottage, outhouse and all scenery including rock face, docks... all fit in a glass display case ment for a football - We both loved it!) you can go back with white paint and just touch the tips of the waves. Works like a charm. If you don't want to put a "rock" lip all the way around your poured water you can make a lip with the thicker product, let it dry, then pour into it, just make sure you've built your lip high enough (you don't really want to know why I keep repeating that part do you?) Finally, once you've poured it - LEAVE IT ALONE! If you tilt the base the water will accidently flow out of the boat house...er...where you want it...and take the base materials with it. And if you touch the surface too soon it will leave a visable finger print (which is where the ducks come in...you really can't expect a five year old boy to wait that long I guess!)
