The last step is to scrape the gold off of the adapter plate, install it, and paint it flat black.The final product is nearly seamless.

This was a great tutorial.... I do not have any clue how you did it ( did you run the wires from the lamp through the eyeleds???) .... but the outcome is fabulous!

I forgot that electrical plugs are different in Europe! I'm not sure if the adapters are different too, but the adapters available in the U.S. are used to replace the electrical cord attached to the light fixture, putting the prongs directly behind the fixture. This allows you to plug the fixture into the wall. The wall itself has a 1/16" hollow space where the wires I soldered to the eyelets will connect with a circuit in the ceiling.
