My bashed Fairfield: I started this house in November 2008, almost a year ago, and I still have a long ways to go. It's been a really tough year for our family, so the house was left to sit for a while, but I'm excited to be working on it again. I decided to do a half scale house partially because of space and partially because I fell in love with the Farifield. But I really wanted a bit more space in the house, so I basically cut it down the middle and added three inches (six feett) down the center. That gave me room for a larger entry, a larger landing upstairs, and a den on the back. Getting the attic/roof to look natural was one of the hardest parts, but I think I've finally got it. The roof isn't glued on yet, I have some lighting and a few things to do first, but I'm close. The roof will be shingled eventually, but I'm going to do it in place because I have to be sure how the shingles fit together in the areas where I changed the house. Overall I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out.
