Gustav and his mill

otterine

I have the week off from work, and yesterday I built Gustav's Mill -- the Archistories Windmill 'Marienfehn' in Z scale (1:220).

The kit went together easily since the parts are so accurate.  The instructions are clear with good drawings.

The motor does work with a 3V battery holder.  There are two diodes included to slow down the revolutions per minute (from 33rpm to 15 rpm according to the instructions).  Those will be added later once I get the display table built for it.  The motor has a quiet wind-up toy sound that's rather satisfying.  I plan to make a modest landscape for the display, too.

There's a movie of it in action on my blog.

Oh, Gustav is so sweet!  I love that he has his own working model of a windmill inside his windmill.  This is such a delightful project.

Brae, this build has rapidly become a new favorite. I love Gustav. Can't wait to see what else you do with this :D

As I think I said, I have waited a bit to see what you do with Watson Mill...this miniature miniature is precious
