Good news: repairs look great! Everything matches really well, and FINALLY that bright white and da-glo yellow is gone! Bad news- the finish crackled. Gah!

I say go with it... maybe the house is telling you it wants to be a crumbling grand old dame. If you want to do "new" interiors then maybe it's a work in progress renovator.. the occupants have done the inside but are saving up for a new paint job to restore her to her former grandeur. :D

Old and French sounds like stone to me...so if you stipple on your top colors instead of brushing, that should give you a good stone texture.

I live in San Francisco, and a lot of houses around here have stucco on the front and clapboards on the side and back (which aren't very visible because the houses are tall and skinny, like this one, and close together). So if you like the stone idea I think it would be realistic to have the front facade different from the sides.

Thanks! The plan all along was to go old and French, so maybe I can work with it?

I think this house would look great as a New Orleans French Quarter style house. :drool2:

Grand but faded...

Or this one http://www.collinwoodhouse.com/  not faded.. lol

Your house really has the bones for this style, for sure!

Oh, and I was going to use a satin finish paint...Behr's satin is closer to other brands eggshell. Anyway, may have to go with a flat finish for this, yes?
