barnilad
I am finally getting to the end of construction on the 505 farmhouse! I would appreciate some suggestions on finishing the ridge. I tried overlapping the shingles as suggested in the directions but don't like the way they look. I left the shingles unstained and cannot come up with an appropriate color to finish an angled piece of basswood to cover the entire length with one piece. Would appreciate learning what others have done. Pictures would be very helpful
havanaholly
What about a metallic color for the ridge piece? Or if you decide to paint the shingles, paint the ridgepiece, too.
Steve_in_PA
I found some foil-like shelf paper at Lowe's. It was stickey back, but didn't stick well on shingles, so I bent it in shape & gave it a shot of spray glue and that seemed to work well. They had copper, chrome, aluminum, and other colors. I have used it for roof peaks, flashing, trim , etc. I'm sure all the big building supply stores have this, plus maybe Walmart & stores like that.
