I agree with Holly, but you also could make a wide variety of the projects designed to be made with wood out of cereal boxes too. The only exceptions would be turned parts like table legs and things. For carved things, you would just glue on jewelry findings, lace, doily parts, etc and paint them to match your project.

Things like the clock would be even easier made from cardboard than they would with wood, because with wood, you would have to soak and bend it to make the shape. With cardboard, you would just bend and glue it.

Even easier would be to thread these things onto lengths of stiff wire as you glue them together.  That's what Dorie Crusz recommended in her book.
