k2adams
I have inherited this castle and would like to sell it ASAP. It is an exquisite antique Miniature Medieval Castle replica made with attention to the finest of details. This work of art was completed during the 1970’s by Dr. John Lewis, renowned plastic surgeon, formidable author, mentor, and a founding member and organizer in 1967 of the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Lewis was also named 1974 State Poet Laureate by President Jimmy Carter. Meticulous by nature, the precision and thoroughness of Dr. Lewis’s talented hands, is evident throughout his masterpiece in both design and creation. It is a stunning success of care and accuracy. The architectural features will transport you to a far-away land. Perfect in scale, each room features crown and base molding. There are 2 cathedral ceilings with actual concave curve transitions between the wall and ceiling, as well as cove molding. True-to-life design aspects of the Middle Ages highlighted within this Miniature treasure include stained glass windows, a drawbridge, rear spiral staircase, 2 metal staircases, a music room and chapel. Electrically, there are 8 lit chandeliers and 2 operating fireplaces – 1 with a rotisserie. Parquet and hardwood floors are present throughout. Several of the furniture pieces are marked Made in England. Many of the fine miniature reproductions are made and signed by noted artisans including Sonia Messer, Dennis Jenvey, Judee Williamson, Margarita Morgan, B. Danzig, Joseph B. Scott and Tucker. The desk in the study is marked that it is made with English oak cut at Walliswood. There are special highlights and detailed elements of each room and piece, of which the scope is too numerous to list. If you know of a collector who may be interested in this, or have any suggestions on where to go I would be very grateful. Thank you!!! havanaholly
Pieces like this will take a very long time to realize their value. Depending on how much furnishings are in it, sometimes it doesn't hurt to sell off larger items separately. You might consider having an art dealer sell it for you.
