FurMama Posted May 24 Share Posted May 24 According to Greenleaf's website one bag of shingles equals 225 square inches just like the speed shingles. Sandpaper makes nice asphalt looking shingles. You can also take cardstock and paint it to look like slate. You can take corrugated cardboard rip the top layer off so that the Ripple layer is left and paint that to look like tin. I have also found thin Metal Sheets in the hardware store. Some scrapbook paper has the rippled look of corrugated cardboard without the extra effort of taking off the top layer. You can also lay thin pieces of strip wood found at Hobby and Craft stores or long kitchen matchsticks with the tops cut off at spaced intervals and then paint all that with metallic paint to get the look of a flat roof with the ridged seams.
