Contrary Housewife
I'm ready to start furnishing this house and having trouble with the upstairs area. Between the two windows and the two dormers, there's no place to put a bed! I'm not even sure I could get a 1:12 bed in here. I might use the single low-post bed from House of Miniatures, but how to place it? I put some photos in my gallery: http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/index.php?app=gallery&album=5347 Suggestions welcomed.
havanaholly
I wish Sclarise's website were still up with her tutorial for making a Murphy bed from a Michael's hutch. I got started makoing my own furniture because of the problem of finding ready-made furniture that fit (NOT).
KathieB
You could ignore the niche on the right wall and put the head of the bed there. Another solution might be to use a futon that is set up like a couch for the daytime.
havanaholly
An old issue of Miniature Collector had a tutorial for making a "working" futon that used lengths of wire for the joints. I have made several using weensy nuts & bolts & washers. I also used two widths of craft sticks.
