nuttiwebgal
I have some flooring I want to glue down to the kitchen floor it is wood. I should use wood glue? and does this stuff warp? it is wood parquet. and it fit perfectly into the house Im putting it in. I should lay heavy objects on it while it dries? some advice please. oh and what would be a good way to finish it? I was thinking....a light sanding....a good rub with brown bag....and than a couple of coats of polyurethane? no stain coz the colors are already perfect. nutti
Charlene
Hi! I used wood glue for the parquet that I used in 2 rooms of my colonial and I did not have any warping with it. Now this was pre-stained (lovely dark oak) so I used just two coats of poly with sanding between the coats and it turned out lovely. Shouldn't have a problem with warping if you're not staining it (not enough moisture to cause the warp, I think). But, as it's always better safe than sorry, you might place a book on top of it when you glue just to be sure.

I should use wood glue?If your flooring is laminated to a paper backing you can use wood glue or doublesided tape. and does this stuff warp? it is wood parquet. and it fit perfectly into the house Im putting it in. I should lay heavy objects on it while it dries? That way you know it'll dry flat oh and what would be a good way to finish it? I was thinking....a light sanding....a good rub with brown bag....and than a couple of coats of polyurethane? Try a light coat of clear sealer and when it's thoroughly dry if it looks "fuzzy" you can hit it with some 600 grit or finer sandpaper and if not, then a good brisk rubdown with the grocery sack & then poly if you want a basketball court gloss. And pictures, of course!
