Before I go painting and restoring them, I thought I'd run it past ya'll and make sure I'm not about to mess with a collectible of some kind. Anyone identify them or are they just cool vintage? With the bamboo wrap on them, I'm thinking maybe taiwan or something along that line. There are no makers marks on them anywhere. And great pictures too - it's nice to see how they're constructed. They look vintage to me - I sure haven't seen anything like them in the stores anyway... but I haven't been around that much yet either. Good luck on identifying them.
