WyckedWood

I bought a pair of these to reupholster, Im hoping I can add an inch or so to the back piece, theyre just a tad too short. Any reupholstering advice ? Ive done it several times but never on a project I care about this much. Im planning to use some tiny print Christmas fabric or maybe a solid green or white if I cant pull off a print. These have a wood frame that feels like its about 1/8".

Personally, I like the pink print fabric already on the chairs, but I am sure you will do a lovely job of reupholstering them for what you have in mind.

Thanks, its fine but wont match the Christmas theme Ive got going for this house. Its always a little nerve wracking to take the fabric off a well made chair.

Could you add a back pillow/cushion-removable-that would be a bit taller than the original back? Or,depending on the style you want, add a skirt to disguise bead or wooden 'feet' to add height. I was assuming you mean the back is too short, but did you mean the whole chair is?

Thanks Kat, I think just the back is too short. I'll have to add something to cover the bun feet too,now that you mention it maybe I could add a little height, that's a good idea.

I've seen feet added on chairs like this - maybe flattened round ones or tip of stair spindles? It might help with height. Also, If you wanted to add to the back of the chair I would probably glue a larger piece of wood over the existing one and add foam.
