Also - you are the first to hear it! - I am thinking of moving the left side wall quite a way farther left, making the one-time kitchen area (I think) into a ladies' powder room, and creating in the enlarged space a prohibition-era SPEAKEASY! Complete with bar, booze,dance floor - and floozies!

There will be 'respectable' guests too, some of them 'slumming',. AND a cabaret artiste - modelled on Josephine Baker. Will give her a piano accompanist.

I may also create a bordello upstairs. Which floor? Not yet decided!

On the other hand, Kathie, I might just make this a gorgeous London Art Deco town house... respectable and 'daringly modern' for, say,1926. LOL.
