Front view shabby chic dollhouse

RockawayRose

Front view of the newly rehabbed shabby chic dollhouse. I purchased this from a dealer who got it at an estate auction. One of my favorite houses, especially for the expansive third floor height and lovely bones of the house. I decided to decorate it as a shabby chic house of a musical theatre writer and cat lover - myself!

I believe your house is the Briar Hill by Afton. The giveaway is the door off center to the left. Another giveaway is the high mansard roof. Afton was the only company that made their mansard roofs that high, as far as I know.

Afton made two sizes of this house. The Briar Hill is 32 5/8"H x 25"W x 14 3/4"D with 6 rooms. You could buy a porch kit and addition separately. The houses were wholesale only.

I love what you've done to this house. It's gorgeous!

Wow, thank you so much for that information about the house! I've often wondered about it and never seen it anywhere. I really do love the high mansard roof and will probably keep it, I love it too. Thanks for your kind words!

Someone just gave me two boxes of various shaped wood and some tattered sheets of "instructions" that suggest it too may be a Briar Hill. Unfortunately the instructions are seem generic to different models. Is this how they came and the builder simply had to figure out what was what? Or are there more detailed and specific instructions to the Briar Hill?  Thanks.

I had bought this used already built so I don't think I can answer this.  However there's a kit of a different Afton House on Facebook Marketplace so I'm assuming it did come with instructions.

I have the same house! Same colors and everything. It was mine growing up and now I am trying to fix it up for my daughter. Were the doors and windows there when you purchased? I am trying to find replacement for mine but so far dimensions of what is out there are not matching up. I just purchased a door that I hopeful about!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Ashley, I just gave this house away as I moved and had to downsize.  So sad as I loved it.  Cherish yours!  It did come with all the windows and doors.  I do believe they are standard size for 1:1.
