Next Door Neighbors

MiniMadWoman

I couldn't resist putting my two 'girl's beside each other for a photo. I'm going to need more room for landscaping and gardens!

PERFECT! That's so cute. I'm still waiting for my Beacon Hill to arrive, Teresa. I ordered a sewing table on rollers to put mine on. It came today. I plan to put a tablecloth or dressing table skirt on it and store any extra accessories underneath (there are 3 small shelves). Have received a few furniture items and accessories I ordered.

Questions: Is there a way to keep dust out? Maybe with glass over opening? Has anyone done that?

Still haven't order lighting kit - not feeling confident on exactly what I need. Does it plug in the wall? Have a switch? Or run on batteries?

Joy to you and your family!

Thanks Virginia!

You're going to love the Beacon Hill . . . it's such a beautiful house. Putting it on a sewing table with wheels sounds like a great idea.

Some people have plexiglass cut to size and then attach it to the house with hinges. I don't have anything over mine and the dust is fairly minimal. Of course, I play alot so maybe that's why. LOL!

As far as lighting, just make sure you get a transformer that is large enough to handle all the lights you want in your house. If you know what each room is going to be it should be fairly easy to choose lighting (famous last words, there are so many choices out there!). The transformer is attached to a cord that has prongs on one end which go into a junction splice into the house. The transformer is then plugged into the wall. All the lights are connected with tape wire. Darrell has done an excellent tutorial on electrical, so when you're ready you can have a look at that.

Good luck!

Virginia, about the dust, Teresa is right and I have a large cabinet of roomboxes that has plexiglas sliding doors. I have had this cabinet for many years and there's really no dust inside to speak of. I think that's a good option to look into--Plexi with hinges attached.
