The railings are my own design actually . Thank you so much !! the bricks nearly killed me !

I met a laser cutter who was looking for work, I came back from New Orleans and gave him pictures and together this is what we decided on, a cross of a few things I saw there.

There are other forms of railing to use, like the plastic fencing from hobby builders, you just cut off the little spikes.

It's getting there but discovered last night that the plastic slate roof is too small but two pieces together look crappy with the seam !! dang it !

tonight is hand shingling and painting to look like slate, hope it works

Oh and for cost the railings are cut out of mat board, wood was too expensive and mat board kept it under 50.00, money always tight lol

It's actually really cool, you create a design and plug away into the computer the coordinates if each little swirl and then the laser cuts away . It's more compicated than that I'm sure lol but I just design lol. I can't operate machines lol

Beautiful work! I love that rail work. I never would have guessd it was matboard. I too have been wanting to do a New Orleans house. I like that style. The closest I have gotten is one room in my DH has a New Orleans feel. Your house is a real inspiration! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so very much ! If anyone wants the number of my laser guy I would be happy to share, He is an unemployed NASA guy that needed a push in the right direction, he's super kind and not terribly expensive !
