Bedroom wallpaper - templates

otterine

I have exactly five full sheets of scrapbook paper for the bedroom - Out of Time by Recollections - and it seems to have been discontinued, of course. There is next to no margin for error for cutting the pieces I have.

I've cut the main templates from drawing paper and extra scrapbook paper I had on hand, so I can now cut the actual scrapbook paper. The open triangles on either side will have to be cut to match the pattern as best as possible.

Plan B, in case of disaster, is to use the dark patterned paper on top with plain black on the bottom and a black painted chair rail between the two. But, I plan to make photocopies of the scrapbook paper and do a test run with those before cutting the final pieces from the original scrapbook paper. That should help cut down on possible problems.

I wallpaper right over openings. Once it's dry the paper is taut across the openings and then all I do is back light it and use a new exacto blade to cut out the openings, sliding the knife along the inside edge as my guide. Works like a champ. I don't know if you have enough paper or are having to piece it together.

That method won't work for this house mainly because some of the wood around the interior window arches shows as trim on the inside. So, I will actually be cutting more away around the windows than you see here. I will also have to piece the long walls since they are deeper than the standard 12" width of scrapbook paper.
