You can see "skid row" up on top, those are a few of my unfinished dollhouses. This part of the desk serves double duty for both the computer and a work station for smaller miniatures like furniture or 1/144th houses. I'm wondering whether I should remove the rest of the doors off the cabinet? Any ideas to make this area more efficient are welcome!

My computer desk is just that no mini's allowed here. no glue to gunk up the keyboard. I did take doors off for phone books, calendar and other things I need handy. I can understand you having mini's on top but mine has genealogy binders. 5feet of them :-)

No idea how this is going to show up I've typed over some icons up there ^^..

good luck,

One of my brother-in-law's sisters is big into genealogy. I'm glad I haven't been bitten by that particular hobby bug, because between art, photography, miniatures, and knitting, I have no room. Amazingly, the keyboard and tablet stay clean and glue free, especially since I've stopped eating in here.

Now that I think about it, keeping the computer section of the desk clear of miniatures does make sense.

I think I'm about to fall into the rabbit hole, it doesn't end!

My first thing would be to get a caddy to hold the things that you use ALL the time- scissors, glue, sanding materials, masking tape...Put it right by your predominant work area and put it right back when you are done.

Other than that, I have no advice. My work room is the same way. And people keep giving me more stuff!
