Desk Center

CatColorado

This part collects supplies like brushes. It gets messy very fast. Things not put away end up here.

I won't be able to reach them up there, but I will think about it. The ceilings in this room are quite high, so the wall space is a little deceptive. I can just barely touch the top edge of that window with my finger tips while standing on my toes.

I use silverware caddies for all my brushes, pliers, etc; the kind that sits on the counter not in a drawer. Most of them have a handle which makes it easy to move to wherever I'm working. We keep all the remotes for the tv,dvd, sound system in one too.

I agree with the suggestion of using ANY and ALL available wall space for shelving. Just get a folding two or three step step-stool and you can access anything up there. I'm very short and that works for me.

In my sewing area, I put up pegboard for small items and thread holders and adjustable shelves over my cutting table. I have all my studio windows and doorways "dressed" with shelves above them. I put all the seldom used items on these areas freeing up the table tops for the mini drawers and underneath for the rolling drawers.

Of course, my eldest granddaughter calls me a craft hoarder and just staged an intervention for me which freed up a lot of space. :giggle:
