Stairway to the tower part of the lodge

Jo Med

This stairway will link the main room to the tower which has a couple of smaller rooms. None of this part of the building has been started yet. The door is a false one and the stair may end up going nowhere - it depends on the fit with the tower.

Thanks Gerda, this house is full of little "peek throughs" where you can only catch a glimpse of what lies beyond. If you send me you e-mail address I'll send you a pic of the finished room because I can't attach images to my p.m.s on here. Or, if you are on facebook, you can see pics there.

I don't have the words to tell you how much I admire what you do. It's all been said, here, and wherever your work appears. I have not seen such raw talent anywhere else. Please tell me... how did you create that worn-down stone look on the first step up through the doorway (before the stairs)? Is it, in fact, stone?

Hi Mandy, sorry I missed this comment. Thank you so much for your lovely words, I'm flattered.

I made the staircase out of a cheap MDF dollhouse staircase and put a block of wood at the bottom for the large bottom step. I carved a bit out of it to simulate wear over the years. I sprayed the whole lot with grey primer and then top coated it with a spray on stone effect paint in a colour called Pebble.
