All Shingled (WHEW!)

The good news is: I finally finished the shingles on the Thornhill. The bad news: The shingle colors are off. So, now I am thinking about staining them while they are on the house. I bought some pre-stain conditioner because I'm hoping it will help to even out the stain color. We'll see. This is too big of a job to mess up. It took FOREVER to finish shingling this house. Especially since the last owner had started and left ALL of the corners to be done. :angry:

I restained my Worthington with opaque blue craft paint [ many a French chateau have the blue tint roofing ] and then wiped off as I went because I was being cautious, didnt want it to go to dark to fast, I like the effect.

I'm going to check your Worthington out again (that's one of my favorite galleries in this forum). I hope it will come out okay-that shingle job was a lot of work.

What color will the siding be?

Um...I wasn't going to use siding. I was just going to stucco the entire house. Maybe a wine color. I'm thinking about making this house a dark color for some reason.

I think my roof needs more color, Once I get my exterior finished, I will know how dark to go

You'll be able to even out the shingles.....what a job it must have been.Thousands of them right?? Whew,I don't care for shingle-ing much.Too tedious. :wave:
