New house!

Nileke

I'm on cloud nine.

This lovely house was handmade by a Scottish craftsman. It's half scale. Would you believe it was only $90 US?

When I was walking around with it, many people wanted to take a closer look. That was kind of weird, because I purchased it quite late in the afternoon on Saturday and it had been on display since Friday night. I'm surprised nobody else beat me to it.

It's so adorable, and a very unusual design too. I had never seen one before half scale or otherwise.

Solid wood and MDF were used to build it. It's very sturdy. I fell in love with it the second I saw it.

Isn't it just? I have a soft spot for English cottages.

To answer your question: I don't know yet, Jo. Judging from the interior (2 rooms + an attic) it could be either a house or a shop.

I'm leaning towards a house, though.

Anyway, I will definitely use some of that gorgeous wallpaper I found at the show. We're very lucky that at least some British artisans and stores cross the pond to be at a Dutch miniature show. The wallpaper and the wooden floors are also British.

Likewise, Monique, I so enjoyed meeting you and Ester. When we met, I hadn't spotted the house yet. I was so surprised that nobody beat me to it, because I only found it late in the afternoon around 4 pm. :p

The house was on the Hannah Roetplein.

It was nice meeting you to.

What a great find, and such an unusual design.

We started close to the Hannah Roetplein, but I can't remember seeing a house there.

I can't wait what you are going to do with it.
