Wisteria

Jo Med

I really wanted a wisteria for this side of the house and the only one I could find to buy was $250 so I set about making one myself. You know that feeling when you have started a job that you wish you hadn't but yet you just have to carry on and finish - well that's how I felt about this. Trust me, I know why they were charging $250 for a wisteria now!!!

My attempt doesn't particularly look like a wisteria flower and the leaves are a bit out of scale but what the heck, I'm happy with it - when I squint it looks perfect - chuckle.

The wisteria is beautiful. It adds just the right touch; the colors are perfect. It looks as though it's been growing there for years (Well, real wisteria grows very fast and makes an awful mess - maybe yours is even better than the real thing!)

I am impressed that you made it yourself.

Thanks guys, glad you like it. I'm happy with it and wll keep replacing and adding to the leaves as they drop off - its been like autumn for the last few days in garfieldville. Maybe I could have a seasonal wisteria and only replace the leaves every spring - now that sounds like a plan.

I love your wisteria, beautiful!

Do you know this gazebo? http://www.nalladris.nl/dollgazebo.htm

If you scroll down there is a link to more pictures, and there you find a wisteria made by her, maybe some inspiration for you? The lady is always very helpfull with tips and hints how to make what she made...

Thanks for the link Marie-Louise. That really is a beautiful wisteria. I have never made any clay flowers and don't actually know where to start but its something I think I will have to try as soon as the Garfield is finished.
