Goth girl's bed

Jo Med

I have wanted to do a bed for some time but I have been a bit intimidated by the task. this weekend I decided I must do my goth girl's bed - besides the siding was getting to me a bit and I needed a break from hot glue.

I had fun with this. She's a typical teenager and doesn't make her bed so its rumpled and crumpled. I wanted to make it look as if someone had just got up and tried to create an indentation with, silvikrin firm hold, a roll of sellotape and a heavy weight on top of it. Unfortunately it looked as though a roll of sellotape had just got up.

This is my first attempt at a bed so there are lots of things that could be better (says to oneself - must practice cushions, must practice cushions) but all in all I'm quite happy with the way it turned out.

Jo, I think you did a wonderful job..I love it!

I've been wanting to try my hand at making a bed, but I have to work up the nerve first.

Thanks Tiffanie, it was fun but now I want to do a better one. I looked at some of the sites you mentioned in one of your posts and the June Clinksdale site just blew me away. I would love to be able to do something like that one day - I even liked the music on the site.

Thanks Marie-Louise, I appreciate your comments. I am happy with the bed, for a first attempt it came out better than I expected (the first attempt at a valance went straight in the bin though) I am comparing it to those done by the experts so I can see that I have room for improvement. That's what its all about though isn't it, learning new stuff and getting better at it.

I think this bed is awesome. To me, the best test for something to look so 'real' in miniature, is that you feel like you could simply walk into the scene and make yourself at home, and this certainly does that! I also just love your style on all of your work.

Jo-

I stumbled across this pic today. Not only is the bed fabulous, it really does look like someone just got up!!!

Great job creating "reality" in mini!
