Merrimack Coffee Table.jpg

Debsrand56

Well, it took me so long to get my pictures posted that I have already completed the coffee table.  It was a pretty simple and straightforward item to build.  Here it is.   I had some left-over stems from the SDK polka-dot plant I made for the kitchen, so I stuck them in a flattish orange bead for a planter.  I liked how sculptural the purple bead was, and I liked that it picked up the purple that’s in the settee, but I’m not sure if it looks too large.

This looks great! I guess one of the good things about mid-century is that everything was quite linear... making for easier cutting of components. :D

Amazing how a few rectangles of wood and some toothpicks (?) stained and put together can look so good! You have a great eye Deborah.

Edit: Forgot to add that I like your styling of this table also.. Life Magazine, inspired choice. :D and the beads work great in their respective roles. The colours are spot on.
