Another step closer. I used a vinegar/steel wool stain, which turned out a bit too gray, so I did a very dilute wash of walnut to add a bit of brown. This is still wet, so we'll see how it looks dry, but I suspect it's getting another sanding and more distressing. The goal is old, oxidized barn wood.

Thanks so much! After sanding, I decided that it was too brown and too streaky. I did another wash of the vinegar stain, and I'm satisfied with it. It turned out a bit darker than I would have liked, but has that soft, weathered look that I was aiming for. Now I need to glue it up and start adding beams!
