myst 1st coat

stickyfingers

First coat of paint is on! Repairs and additions are fine, the crackling is covered somewhat by the paint. I'm hoping the second coat does the trick, or at least makes it really, really faint.  So glad to see the shiny yellow gone! This is not going to be a quick project, and the barn build is still in limbo, but I'm wanting to get the exterior painted before winter, so the house can come inside. There's still many, many hours of work to be done!

like my Queen Anne your house seems more detailed then before with all that distracting color...I love what you have done and are doing! you should have made a video of yourself reshaping some of those areas...I would have watched that! great job!

Thanks so much! I was a little nervous about the all-white, but because none of the details are removable, trying to paint out different colors would be a mess. Nutti, it went better than I thought. I've repaired real furniture for years, so that helped. Plus a lot of patience, sanding, and a few swear words. I'm so glad that I saved the house!

Thank you!! The weather will not permit painting this weekend, but I've got a laundry list of other projects to work on instead. I'm still kind of giddy with how it's going. I have a vision of it in my head, so it's nice to see it moving in the right direction. Oh, and Brae, all of the areas where the "siding" is just flat, I may stipple over those like you suggested. I'll finish all of the coats, then do a final coat just over those areas to give it a little texture.
