Renovating Manor House 1:12 scale chairs

Debora59

New and improved! Finally....This set of eight chairs came with this manor house, I never did like the color [ orange/ brown finish ] and definitely did not like the seat cushions. [ rust, white and blue stripes, yikes!] Now they are dark walnut finish with a shimmering sage green fabric. I used the fabric from a Pier ! beaded napkin and the beads are saved for drapery trim. I like them mush better, here is how they looked prior to the reno. http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/?app=gallery&module=gallery&controller=view&id=71967

A world away from the original Debora and far more in keeping with your colour scheme now.

I often don't like the upholstery that comes with the furniture, specially when it's purposedly made as bland as possible to fit with diferent houses >.< Fantastic pick on the fabric, they look so much better now! I hate using textile glue, always ends up all over my fingers and even hair, I find it really hard to stick thicker fabrics such as this into the templates and keep them still until it's dry. Latelly I resorted to using a TON of papperclips in each chair, it gets the job done but still makes me rage like crazy. Did you use textile glue or something else? If I find an easier method to do this it would save me many hours and a big chunk of my sanity xD

Thank you. I used no heat fabric glue, works best when I apply heat with my iron just because it then dries immediately!

Oh great idea, I was using the cold type but is a bit annoying for small things, will try that one next time. Thanks!
