I don't need this over door piece here, I like the design I came up with but had to try it in this room, There are some massive frieses above the arched doorways in Highclere, this one may be too big of a design. I purchased this trim originally for the exterior over door, I felt the one I built was not high enough. Try to imagine it the same color as the rest of the door casing. If I don't use it as a friese it will become the main attraction of my next fireplace. I also have been working on trimming out the ceiling and fitting the 5th set of stairs that meet the 2nd floor

It kind of overwhelms the space in my opinion, just a little too large. Perfect trim for the overall design of the house though! 

I left it up for a little while and now I feel like it takes away from the design I have in place. But I do love imposing windows and doors!

Leaving it in place visually lowers the room height.......great if that's the plan......but these would have been high ceilinged rooms.......It's great to see it all coming together though Debora.
