The Nine Horses - 4.75 hours

otterine

I have begun stitching on The Nine Horses using 32ct Jobelan fabric in parchment. I'm using two strands of DMC floss and using half cross stitch. I'm changing my colors from the original as I usually do and am planning to leave off the flower and box detail as well. This is 4.75 hours of work. Needlepoint goes twice as fast as cross stitch. :D

The pattern was drafted from a real life sized original that I've had a difficult time tracking down. More about that on my blog. ANd, now my friends and I are thinking these aren't llamas at all...but horses given the long tails.

I always felt they were actually horses because of the tails and the manes, but I see the llama structure, too. They are so stylized that they could be either. For mine, though, I think I'll go with the horses. :ohyeah:
