Easy Stucco Treatment

A cheap and extremely easy method for applying a stucco look to your miniature exteriors. This method works well on Greenleaf and other plywood surfaces as well as the pine used for by Houseworks such as the facades on the street of shops. It has not been tested on MDF or other surfaces. It may be beneficial to rough up smoother surfaces with a utility knife or some high grit sandpaper. I used the Simple Fix brand Premixed Adhesive & Grout. A quart runs you about 8$

Hey All, Merry ALMOST Christmas! I have to give Oma her present at 2PM but its not done yet ;) . I'll get it done. So lets see... whats new since I last posted? Making Progress

Happy Halloween to me! All my packages arrived today! The first thing I did upon tearing through the boxes was to get to those ornaments! But Im not going to lie, I was disappointed. They were slightly smaller in scale than I had expected. Oh well! Thats what I get for planning a whole roombox before the inspiration pieces had arrived. Wadderyagonnado? I guess I have to work around it. So the first thing I did was to de-ornament them, that is, I pulled out

Christmas Cookies Roombox

So after seeing Monica's flea market haul I was inspired to make a Christmas gift for my Oma. (Grandma got the ice cream shop this one is for my other Grandma) Every year my sister and I make butter cookies, gingerbread houses and chocolate chip cookies with Oma and the oven and fridge ornaments inspired a kitchen roombox. So I ordered them and I am putting them in the Basic Room Box Kit by Houseworks which I got at A.C. Moore for $5. Along with the Faux Marble & Beadboard Cente

Time for Another Update

Well once again I have forgotten to update my blog as I accomplish stuff so heres another jumble-of-house-updates-in-one-blog-entry again! lol Well let me start off by saying that there is nothing new with the Rutherford, the Quickbuild Classic Colonial, the Walmer Old Town or anything that was still in a box during my last post. But the Orchid, the Pizza Shop, and the Adams all have updates. Lets start with the pizza shop since its changes are minimal. I can proudly s

Wow I Forgot I Had A Blog!

Now that I know that I do...Ill try to sum up the past year in one post. Here we go... So about a year ago I put the minis away. My grades were slipping and I had to get my butt in gear because graduation was just months away. After graduation I got my first job at Shoprite for stock in the dairy dept. After 3 months there I quit and then started my first semester of college at Berkeley for interior design. In November I started working at Petsmart. Then in January I actually looked

Lets start at the beginning

My Step-grandfather had an Artply Rutherford kit in his basement because his first wife had ordered it before she died. I was about 12 when I found that he was going to get rid of it and I asked if I could build it and he said yes. So I had been working on this dollhouse for about 2 years before I put it in the attic to collect dust and wait for the day I came back to finish it. He also had the Artply Worthington and Bobbi. A few years after I got the Rutherford I got the other two.
