I just finished an Aster Cottage, and it has a built-in fireplace :) . So I decided to make it look like stone. I found air-drying terra cotta clay. There's three steps to making the fireplace "stone"!

1. prepare your clay. this means spray it with water, then knead it

2. carefully, cover the hearth, fireplace and pit with the clay.also, if you are putting something inside like a pot crane to hang pots or wire a working fire, now's the time!!

3. let the clay dry.
