jaxenro Posted yesterday at 10:00 AM Share Posted yesterday at 10:00 AM Am making two bench style window seats for under the bay windows. The satinwood trim will match the trim on the shelf units first I made a base from 1/8 basswood 1 1/2 x 3". I scored the underside to look like individual boards and stained it then a box of satinwood/ebony/holly banding. Light coat of oil and multiple clear lacquer a smaller piece of 1/8 basswood for the cushion, some leather and foam rubber the clamp keeps it together as i assemble it and put it together. The legs will be the standout feature of these they are coming
havanaholly Posted yesterday at 12:36 PM Share Posted yesterday at 12:36 PM Cabriole legs? Lion feet? Pretty! All the window seats I curled up on to read when I was little were built-ins with hinged lids for seats. My mother used ours to store her father's books and her old nursing textbooks.
jaxenro Posted yesterday at 01:04 PM Author Share Posted yesterday at 01:04 PM each will have a pair of bronzed miniature versions of some antique Roman table supports - they will serve as seating and also to showcase what the shop offers by way of custom statuary
