Karen99
Hello my friends, I took a dollhouse hiatus in August...but now it's September. I am back at work on the Harrison. I wanted to get busy finishing the kitchen, BUT. I realized that I should probably paint that side of the house first, and replace those windows.. This is a rehab. Yes I know I am nuts. So is my Intuition correct? Complete the exterior on the kitchen side before wallpapering the kitchen? And...can anyone recommend a reputable dollhouse wallpaper brand? Thank you all! havanaholly
If you can wait to apply your window trims after you have applied your wallpaper, it will look a lot neater.
Karen99
Will do Holly! Thanks! I am going to finish the edges of the windows, which the original assembler didn't paint, before I do any further steps. Then, I will do the wallpaper and add the trims that the original guy didn't already install.

Somebody was talking about faded wallpaper the other day, and a few people came back with more information on better places to find wallpaper...I forget what the post was exactly but that's the best I got! LeeB
I haven't ever used commercially produced miniature wallpaper. I usually use scrapbooking paper. It is less expensive and a good weight, doesn't buckle when pasted, and I have had good luck finding the colors and patterns i have wanted. Just an idea... havanaholly
Dover Publications used to publish a couple of different books of dollhouse wallpapers that I have used. Like Lee, I also use scrapbook papers. Occasionally I'll run across remnants of 1:1 wallpapers in thrift stores with patterns small enough to use in 1:12. I like to use some of the 1:1 borders for accents:
MamaV
I'm so glad to know scrapbook paper is accepted! I'll pursue my plans with that, personally.
Karen99
I received this info in reply to a letter I sent to Miniature Crush, a vendor I like. The Bradbury papers will not fade. I have not had a problem with the Brodnax but they do suggest spraying with a coating although I have never done that. I didn't start using the Brodnax papers until 2015 but I have not seen any fading. My houses are not in direct sunlight. I do have my papers professionally printed and they not are not supposed to fade. I haven't had any long enough to do a real test. I hope that helps! sprayI will try the Bradbury paper and I may spary one of the ones I have. That one is just a border, so I may be able to make that work.
FurMama
I read recently where Bradbury & Bradbury was changing their printing process for their RL wallpaper collections not sure if this applies to their dollhouse wallpaper line or if it would change anything quality or otherwise. havanaholly
Someone here mentioned it's smart to test the spray on a small bit of the paper to make sure the spray doesn't cause the ink to run.
