J_Sea
My grandfather built me my first dollhouse, the Greenleaf Orchid, when I was a kid in the ‘80s. He didn’t do the roof shingles but painted the roof silver (probably leftover spray paint in his garage!). I LOVED it! I taught myself to sew and made all sorts of little blankets and curtains. I used one of those kiddy crafted woven potholders as a quilt. Well…. 39 years and 2 kids if my own and a global pandemic later, I’m doing my own build! Ostensibly for my daughter but really for myself. I’m excited to get crafty and build something with my own two hands! Thanks for this forum and for all of your inspiring talent and helpful tips. Here goes nothing! 🎈

You will love building and making this your own and I am sure incorprating all sorts of things that remind you of your grandpa and the hours spent playing!
