pdlnpeabody
Welcome to the forum, Joe. My first house was a replica of (I believe) a Westlake Victorian. I was unable to locate blueprints, but the owners were more than cooperative with allowing access to the house's interior. I took photographs, sketches, measurements and compared color swatches to build an accurate version of it. I don't know much about he Carson Mansion, but that might be an option. I dabbled a little with SolidWorks, but I don't have it at home and I didn't master it well enough to render a house plan. I did take traditional drafting in high school, back in the early 90's. I graduated before I got the opportunity to learn CAD. I too, used to build full scale replicas for museums, theme parks and zoos. Fun work, but the pay was abysmal and work was always seasonal. Some of the projects I worked on are at the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago, the Special Forces Museum in NC, Universal Studios and Disney, here in FL. Among the list of projects I would like to build, is a small garden with pathways, live oaks and a fountain. I have a few small blocks of pink sculptor's foam here that would work for sculpting the fountain, but I'm looking for larger blocks for the trees. You're fountain is definitely inspirational. Like everyone else, I'm looking forward to seeing your gallery once you get it started.
