Silver
Morning (or at least its morning where I am!), Quick question for those of you who have built a Fairfield (but honestly anyone can answer!), how much siding do I need? Or how do I go about measuring for it? I want to order some from Northeastern Scale Lumber, and I don't know how much or which kind I should order for my little 1/2 scale gem. If anyone could be of assistance that would be great! Thank you very much in advance. :groucho:
Anna
When I browsed the GL store I read that they estimate that the Fairfield needs 2 packs of siding http://shop.greenleafdollhouses.com/Wooden...lhouse-Kit.html and the siding is here http://shop.greenleafdollhouses.com/Dollhouse-Siding.html just to give you a rough estimate... Looking forward to seeing your build! Hugs
havanaholly
Are you planning to use the milled pieces or the strips? I would personally go with the strips and order extra, since I also use them for flooring, baseboards, cornices, beadboard, etc.

mageerauld
For your Fairfield in 1/2 scale, just measure around the windows and doors of the exterior walls to figure out how much siding you need. A bit of extra for mistakes is always smart! Clapboard or shingle from Northeastern Scale Lumber could look great. Maybe give them a shout with your project details for advice on the amount and type. havanaholly
If you have one of those nice paper cutters you could invest in some inexpensive poster board and whack out all the siding your heart desires. Once it's glued down and painted,it will look good. I slathered the exterior of mine with joint compound.
