Here is a miniature shrine I made for an Indian friend a while back, I thought it might be interesting to use the same technique to cover the wood on a 1:24 sofa I am refurbishing.

It looks great. I think that kind of effect you wont have with gold spray or paint but I am new so it is just an opinion.
